Events like the Square Jam (game jam), large creative projects like AI, and summarizing it all in the end as an Intern Rap!

What is the most important skill you learned during your internship?

I leveled up in both backend and graphics programming, helping me become a more well-rounded generalist gameplay programmer.

Would you recommend an internship at Square Enix Montréal to other students?

Yes - it strikes the perfect balance of indie-like teams and triple-A-like projects, and the atmosphere is always helpful and welcoming. You get to work on a wide variety of tasks and learn about a lot of cutting-edge technology.

Would you come back to SEM for another internship or a permanent position?

Yes, and I plan to do so after graduation! Every project and team in the studio is super awesome, and it seems to be a perfect fit 🙂

My first Show and Tell event where I got to see the entire team come together to discuss the company’s biggest updates. It was heart-warming to the head of the Studio welcome an intern like me to the company

Dedication and teamwork.

Would you recommend an internship at Square Enix Montréal to other students?

Yes, I would recommend it, as you get to be a part of the team and meet amazing people while understanding their culture and growing with them.

Also, Magic Mondays can help you relax when you have had a busy week. I would also tell them about how Square Enix Montréal is involved in helping the gaming industry with social issues.

Would you come back to Square Enix Montréal for another internship or a permanent position?

Yes, I would love to be back to Square Enix Montréal for another role or a permanent position as I have always wanted to work in Montreal.

I love the company environment and how people always meet up in the morning for a coffee break on Fridays.
