“Our Studio welcomed 11 babies in 2021,” said Patrick Naud, head of Studio of Square Enix Montréal. “With so many parents in our team, it was natural for Square Enix Montréal to include quality paediatric care in its community engagement.

To have the opportunity to amplify the efforts of video game fans and influencers to support Opération Enfant Soleil is an honour. We are in a privileged position to help the children of today and tomorrow lead healthier and longer lives.”

"Thank you to Square Enix Montréal and to all the participants who will combine passion and generosity during this colorful event! It is thanks to you and all those who will encourage you that we can continue our mission and offer essential support to sick children and their families," said Jonathan Gendron, Chief executive officer of Opération Enfant Soleil.

Playing for greater diversity

Building on its efforts and initiatives for a more inclusive video game industry, Square Enix Montréal will take the opportunity to encourage greater representation of women.

Specially produced video interviews with female streamers will be broadcast throughout the Twitch stream to break stigmas around women video game players and encourage more girls to pick up a controller.
