For our 10th-anniversary, we are rewinding our history through the stories of the employees who have made and lived it. One profile per year!
What as your position when you were hired in 2011?
I started as Administrative assistant.
My role was to ensure the smooth running of the studio - reception, orders, reservations, special events. In short, to be the studio mom. 🙂
What is your role today, 10 years later?
I am Senior HR Coordinator. I am responsible for the day-to-day operational activities, international mobility requests and applications, taking care of the administrative aspect of the employee life cycle.
Your favorite pop culture moment of 2011?
Seeing one of my favorite bands, Jane's Addiction at Bluesfest in Ottawa. It was a moment of pure pleasure! Ahhhh just thinking about it 🙂
Which song best represents your years at Square Enix Montréal?
Ha ha ha ha.....That would probably be for me, "Diamonds" by Rihanna.
I'm not especially a fan of Rihanna, but every time I hear it, I think of the early days at Square Enix Montréal because one of my colleagues used to listen to this song on repeat. 😛
3 words to describe your first week at Square Enix Montréal
A memorable experience!
3 word to describe this week
Intense. Productive. Collaborative.
How has the studio changed since 2011?
We have adapted to major changes to the mobile game industry, moving from a premium to a Free-to-Play model.
There is no more brown carpet in the office, but we still have the best view in town of the Mount-Royal mountain!
Most importantly, the best people still make up the studio! Some things don't change.
What are your best memories of your years at Square Enix Montréal?
The lovely and welcoming atmosphere!
The lunchtime Systema (Russian martial arts) classes for everyone where we learned combat techniques. Also, board game nights are still memorable!
