Welcome to Square Enix Montréal
As the General Manager of Square Enix Montréal, I’m thrilled at the progress we’re making at the studio — case in point, the launch of our new Web site.
Here at Square Enix Montréal, we’re offering a unique opportunity to the videogame industry’s most talented and passionate developers to join a brand new AAA studio in its beginning stages.
We don’t think of ourselves as a traditional studio and we’re building an environment of master artisans and craftspeople where creativity, collaboration and empowerment are our key drivers to develop the most compelling and innovative games possible.
Making great games is hard, very hard. For the last 20+ years, I've specialized in working with independent studios, so I've had a lot of exposure to different teams, learning what works well and what doesn't work so well. The consistent factor I’ve witnessed is that the most valuable asset in any studio is the people and this is where we want to invest for the future.
If you’re interested, these are the traits which are core to Square Enix Montréal:
Drive: It’s critical that people can embrace change and have a contagious passion for what they do
Experience: While there is no substitute for the experience of shipping games, we really want the right combination of people, both senior and junior who can make spot-on decisions and get things done
Collaboration: It’s essential to make sure that team members complement each other as we run multidisciplinary teams collaborating on projects
The energy in the studio right now is electric and we want to continue in our goal of building one of the best places to work, period. Part of this is creating a space that helps to cultivate the fundamental beliefs we have as a studio; we’re about to take that to the next level as we start construction on our permanent space next month.
I’m inviting you to be a part of the studio’s history, contribute to the definition of what it will become, share your expertise with others and enrich your craft. If this sounds like something you’re interested in, I urge you to please visit our Jobs page and apply today.
Be sure to check out the Web site regularly for updates on the studio and our Hitman game.
Cheers,
Lee
