It is with great pride that Square Enix Montréal attended its very first Montreal International Game Summit (MIGS) as a studio. Members of our HR and dev team were on site throughout the conference to meet colleagues from other studios, potential new employees and students interested in a career in the gaming industry. We were also happy to welcome Cord Smith from Square Enix America and Kasper Storm Engelstoft from IO Interactive, who gave attendees a look behind the scenes of Hitman: Absolution. The talks were well received, prompting some appreciative tweets:

Here are a few more highlights from two days at MIGS.

We were the first to greet attendees as they stepped into the elevators to the conference space. Impossible to miss us!

Everyone who came to see us got their access pass spiffied up with a SEM lanyard and got a chance to win a pair of limited edition Astro A-50 headphones. The winners will be contacted shortly.

Visitors to the booth also got a sneak preview of our new office space.

Mads meets the press.

The studio's abundant artistic talent was on display in the mini-gallery bordering the conference rooms.

Art Director Rasmus represented SEM at the Sketch Duel, where he faced six artists from other studios in an all-out art brawl.
In 15 minutes, he had to paint "A vampire on fire greeting a spider on a paradise island."

Rasmus and Senior Concept Artist Leonid also took turns sketching live at the booth, creating badass concepts from scratch right before our eyes.

We're already looking forward to next year. The 10th anniversary of MIGS promises to be epic!
